When Cryptopunk #7523 sold in July 2021 for 11.8 million; it became the most expensive piece in the Cryptopunk collection until it lost the spot later. This rare alien punk is a unique character. It had a surgical mask and a medical mask on, which is why it is usually attributed to the Covid-19 pandemic. Nicknamed Covid Alien, #7523 sold at a Sotheby’s auction.
