Asides from Neymar, another footballer that has gotten in on the NFT craze is Lionel Messi. Arguably the best footballer in the world, Lionel Messi launched three NFT collections in August 2021. The 4 NFTs were digital art pieces created by Australia-based artist BossLogic. The art pieces named “Man from the Future”, “Man From The Past”, “The King Piece” and “Worth the Weight” depicted various iconic moments in Lionel Messi’s football career. The three NFTs are part of the “Messiverse ” project, released on the Ethernity network. The Golden one NFT sold for $1.128 million making it the most expensive football NFT ever sold.
